Around the Council

It’s been a fantastic summer for our council, and we’re so excited to share some of the highlights!

We kicked things off with an unforgettable 3 days at Camporee — a weekend full of adventure, learning, laughter, and of course, s’mores! From team-building challenges to outdoor skills and evening campfires, our Girl Scouts made memories that will last a lifetime. Keep an eye on the website for more fun content related to camp, we will be releasing a full page dedicated to Camporee!

But the fun isn’t over yet! We’re gearing up for another awesome event — Girl Scouts Take Over Splash Zone! This splashtastic evening is open to Girl Scouts and their families. Come cool off, connect with other troops, and enjoy exclusive access to the park!

To register and pay for your entry, head to the Events tab on the GirlScouts305.com website.

Stay tuned for more events and activities coming your way as we wrap up summer and head into fall. Thank you for being part of our incredible Girl Scout community!

Service Unit Spotlight

Ah'Bruan Sampuran - Troop 3418 (and 3453)

This summer, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on one of our outstanding Girl Scouts — Ah’Bruan, affectionately known as Ah’Bee!

Ah’Bee is a shining example of what it means to live the Girl Scout Promise and Law. As a dedicated member of two troops, she goes above and beyond to support her fellow Scouts and leaders. Whether she’s helping organize activities, encouraging younger Scouts, or jumping in to lend a hand wherever needed, Ah’Bee leads with heart and humility.

Her natural leadership skills and kind spirit make her a role model for others. Younger Scouts look up to her, not just because of her actions, but because of the integrity and respect she shows in everything she does. She consistently stands out for her commitment, compassion, and courage — truly exemplifying what it means to be a Girl Scout.

And while she’s always quick to lend a hand, Ah’Bee also loves to give her troop leaders a hard time — in the best way! Her sense of humor and playful energy keep things fun and remind us all not to take life too seriously.

Ah’Bee, thank you for being such a bright light in our council. Your dedication, leadership, and lively spirit are an inspiration to us all!

Camp Cookie!

Each year, Girl Scouts who sell 800 or more boxes of cookies are given the opportunity to take advantage of a special reward — an exclusive invite to Camp Cookie, and this year’s event at Camp Stonybrook was one to remember!

We’re proud to celebrate our four incredible campers who earned their way to this special experience through hard work, determination, and some serious cookie-selling skills:

  • Clara D. of Troop 3202

  • Piper P. of Troop 3418

  • Quinn P. of Troop 3418

  • Leenah H. of Troop 3421

At Camp Cookie, these outstanding Girl Scouts got to enjoy a full day of fun and adventure, including:

🏊 Swimming
🎨 Crafts
🏹 Archery & Slingshots
🪵 Creeking
🧗 Rock Wall Climbing

Minute to Win it Games for everyone!

As a special treat, each camper and caregiver were invited to enjoy a taco bar lunch — completely free — to celebrate their success and dedication during cookie season. They also got to participate in camp songs and fun with Girl Scout camp counselors who later presented them with a certificate and a pin to honor such a huge achievement. It was a well-earned reward for their efforts, and a great way to cap off an exciting day!

We also want to give a huge shoutout to the following Girl Scouts who also sold more than 800 boxes and deserve major recognition, but opted not to go to camp cookie this year

  • Emmylou R. of Troop 3345

  • Neveah S. of Troop 3485

  • Rylee S. of Troop 3421

  • Gabrielle H.

We are so proud of each and every one of you for your incredible drive and commitment. Your efforts fuel adventures, learning, and leadership opportunities — not just for yourself, but for your entire troop.

Way to go, cookie bosses! 💚🍪

Summer Time!

Just because the school year’s out doesn’t mean the Girl Scout fun has to stop! Summer is the perfect time to try new things, build friendships, and keep living the Girl Scout mission in creative ways — even outside of meetings and badges.

Here are a few ideas to keep the spirit going all summer long:

📖 Start a Troop Book Club

Grab a comfy blanket, a few friends, and your favorite snacks — it’s time for a summer book club! Whether you meet in person or virtually, reading a book together is a great way to spark imagination and share ideas. You can even pick books that align with Girl Scout values, like friendship, courage, or making the world a better place.

✉️ Become Pen Pals with Another Troop

Make new friends this summer — even if they live in another city or state! Becoming pen pals with another Girl Scout troop is a fun way to learn about different places, share troop traditions, and build friendships that could last a lifetime. You can swap letters, postcards, pictures, or even handmade crafts!

Want to get connected with another troop for pen pals or to coordinate a joint book club? Reach out to Maxine Hague — she can help you find the perfect troop to partner with!

🌟 Keep the Adventure Going

No matter what activity you choose, summer is a time to explore, connect, and grow. Keep track of your adventures, try new challenges, or earn a fun patch while you’re at it! Set meetings for in the park, on a trail or at a local pool just to allow the girls to get together! Remember, being a Girl Scout isn’t just about meetings — it’s a way of life.

Have fun, stay safe, and keep being amazing, Girl Scouts!

Meet our Recruitment Specialist ... Maxine!

Veteran Mom. Veteran Wife. Lifelong Scout.

Hi! I’m Maxine, your Girl Scout Recruiter Specialist, and I’m here to help families start their Girl Scout journey with confidence, connection, and a little sparkle. I’ve been with the council for just over a year, but my heart’s been in Girl Scouts for much longer—I led

my daughter’s troop for 8 incredible years and saw firsthand how much it shapes girls

into strong, capable young women.

I’m a proud veteran wife—my husband retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving our country, and we’ve been happily married for 32 years. I’m also a veteran mom to two amazing kids: a 32-year-old daughter (now married to a great guy) and a 20-year-old son currently serving in the Air Force himself. And the icing on the cake? I’m a very proud grandma to my sweet, energetic 11-year-old grandson.

Whether you're brand new to Girl Scouts or coming back for another season, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s build something great together for our girls and their futures!

We need your help!

We’re looking for stories, photos, and testimonials from YOU to help us highlight the incredible work being done by our Girl Scouts and troops!

Do you have a memorable experience to share? Maybe a special achievement, fun outing, or meaningful community service project?

We’d love to hear about it! Whether it’s a story about your girl earning a badge, a troop’s teamwork, or a life-changing moment, your experiences can inspire others.

We’re also seeking photos that showcase your troop in action—crafting, camping, volunteering, or just having fun together. These images help bring our Girl Scout community to life and inspire others to get involved.

If you’re interested in contributing to our blogs, providing a testimonial, or sharing photos, please reach out to us. Your story matters, and we can’t wait to feature it!

Thank you for being part of the Girl Scout family! 💚📸✨
